The Perricoota Region is a tiny wine region in NSW. A range of wine styles are produced including fortified wine.
The Perricoota Region in the Big Rivers Zone lies on the NSW Victorian border. It is the smallest wine region in NSW. Wine production centres near the town of Moama. There are two significant producers. St Anne's owned by the McLean family is a young winery using grapes from both young and old (30 years) vines. Their leading varieties are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. They also grow a number of fortified wine varieties such as Grenache, Malbec and Mourvedre (Mataro). Riverview Estate owned by the Morrison family has a young vinyard planted in 1996. They grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and fortified varieties Grenache and Frontignac.
This region is accessable by Murray River steamers.
