2006 Charles Melton Rose of Virginia
With new labels hitting the wine stores every day, choosing a wine can be a very daunting task. That is why it is good to have some tried and trusted wines in your mind to help you out when you are paralysed by choice.
The Charles Melton Rose of Virginia is one of those wines to always remember due to its expressive character and its fail safe quality. It is made in a rosé style, yet it has more sophistication than the name rosé sometimes implies.
The newly released 2006 version is a gorgeous wine, being filled with crushed strawberry and maraschino cherry flavours. These ripe fruit flavours are balanced by refreshing acidity and a pleasant dry finish.
It is the perfect Saturday afternoon drink for casual, yet stylish entertaining.
Available from fine wine stores.
