2005 Gemtree Tatty Road Cabernet Sauvignon

Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc blend

Gemtree vineyards of McLaren Vale produce a solid range of satisfying wines.  While all of their wines have merit, a particular favourite of mine is Tatty Road, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.  These four varieties have been blended together to create a wine with excellent depth and harmony.  There are mouthfuls of plummy fruits and well integrated tannins.  Serve with slow cooked lamb to ward off the winter chills.
