2007 Lethbridge Shiraz
I am continually amazed at the many different styles of Shiraz we produce in Australia. Of course we are well known for our chocolatey and rich examples but increasingly people are producing high quality cool climate styles which are startlingly good.
Lethbridge Shiraz from the Geelong region of Victoria is a great example of the cool climate style. It has plenty of black berry flavours, laced with strong black pepper and spice. The tannins and oak are well integrated and there is no sign of harshness or heat.
It would make a great Christmas present for a wine lover.
